Clinic
Bond Clinic, P.A. is one of downtown Winter Haven's oldest residents, having been part of the community for sixty years. Opened in 1948 by Dr. Benjamin Bond, the clinic originally resided in the AB Coker Building on 3rd St. NW before moving to First Street in 1954, and again in 1978 to its present location at 500 Central Avenue. In the intervening years the staff of physicians has grown from four doctors to its current 53 contracted physicians, who encompass over twenty board certified specialties.
In 2005, Bond Clinic began a major renovation project at their main campus that now provides the community with state-of-the-art imaging and laboratory services, digital radiography equipment and a six-slice CT scanner. The clinic has also been awarded 5 American College of Radiology Accreditations for their Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound programs.
Proving their dedication to the revitalization of downtown Winter Haven, Bond Clinic is leasing and renovating space at the former Verizon building on Ave B NW. In 2007, the first floor was completed and now houses the only American Diabetes Association accredited diabetes clinic in East Polk County. The first floor also houses Endocrinology, Patient Accounting, Laboratory Services, the Anti-Coagulation Clinic, Medical Records, and the Bond Café, serving breakfast, coffee and specialty drinks, and lunch. A new high-field open MRI will be operation in the fall of 2008. The second floor renovations will be completed in the fall 2008, and will house the Bond Clinic Women’s Center with full obstetric and gynecological services, women’s diagnostic center, and Bond Aesthetics.
A long-time part of the downtown Winter Haven community, the Bond Clinic has been a part of Main Street Winter Haven since its inception in 1995.
"Downtown is the heart of the community," says Bond Clinic CEO, Howard King. "It's important that it is sound and economically healthy."
