2008 Main Street Events Overview
Champagne & Shamrocks ( See
Photos ) - Co-hosted by Main Street Winter Haven and the Winter
Haven Symphony Guild, the annual Champagne & Shamrocks is a
night of black ties and evening gowns, scrumptious food and champagne,
with music provided by local orchestras, such as the Imperial Symphonic
Orchestra and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Staged at Nora
Mayo Hall in downtown Winter Haven, this annual event has become
a much enjoyed fixture on the Winter Haven social scene. Festivities
begin with hors d'oeuvres and champagne served in the main hall,
followed by a silent auction. Music begins at 8:00 pm. Valet parking
is provided. Black tie is optional. Don't miss this magnificent
event!
Central Park Cinema ( See Photos ) - Movies Start at Dusk in Central Park
- For a great evening out, bring the whole family and your friends
for an evening in the fresh air catching a great new movie. Bring
your chairs and blankets and watch a family-oriented and recent
release movie under the stars in Central park. Admission is FREE!
Main Street MIXERS - Held Quarterly and located in a different location each time. Mixers are fun parties that are typically held outside of the Main Street corridor. Mixers are a time where non-kareoker's become kareokers
and non-dancers become dancers. So grab family, friends and be prepared to let your hair down. Don't miss them!
Main Street Annual Meeting - Join the Main Street Board
of Directors, Benefactors, Corporate Sponsors, and Members for a
delicious luncheon, and learn all about the State of Downtown Winter
Haven. Tickets are available by calling the Main Street office at
295-9422.
Quarterly Downtown Walking Tours - Hosted quarterly by Main
Street's Economic Restructuring Committee, these walking tours educate
investor and realtors interested in available downtown Winter Haven
properties and in the economic factors controlling our downtown
business corridor. Tour guests will be shown available buildings
and informed of their history, shown architectural renderings of
the buildings' restored facades, and learn about the overall downtown
restoration plan. Tours are wrapped up with a catered reception
on a downtown restaurant. Admission is free, please RSVP!
WIne Taste (See Photos) - An unforgettable evening under the stars sampling premium wines, with close friends, new friends, and the Symphony Guilds Pops in the Park. Tickets are available at the Main Street office. Ticket includes memento wine glass, and continental meal of assorted cheese, bread and fruit.
